CFA Institute of Filing Aromatherapists
-
Established in 1993, the Canadian Association of Aromatherapy (CFA) has formed an Education Committee in 1999. For approximately 30 years, it has been the most authoritative aromatherapy association in Canada and globally. All aromatherapists complete CFA-approved training and then take the federal government's national examination. Only those who pass the exam can become Canadian certified aromatherapists and are authorized to use the Canadian Aromatherapy Health Professional Certification (CAHP) and obtain aromatherapy accreditation from the UK's IFA. They can apply for UK association qualifications without further training. It is currently the most authoritative and professional gold-standard aromatherapist certificate recognized worldwide.

MODULE 1
After learning about the most categories of essential oils, many students start to feel confused. In this course, in addition to learning about 65 essential oils individually, we will also do exercises on essential oil substitution.
MODULE 2
After studying carrier oils in depth, you'll discover that while the effects of a single carrier oil are definite, a good ratio of carrier oils can produce even better results and can also be used as a base for beauty products. Students will learn to perfectly master the use of carrier oils through 16 different essential oils.
MODULE 3
Are there any differences between using hydrosols alone and using them in combination? In fact, hydrosols can bring out different effects through different formulas. We will familiarize ourselves with the functions of six different hydrosols and how to combine them in different proportions to make your hydrosols multi-purpose.
MODULE 4
A basic chemical structure can roughly describe the basic characteristics of an essential oil. However, an essential oil can sometimes have up to a hundred different chemical structures. It is precisely because of this that essential oils have diverse effects. We will learn about the third layer of the structure of essential oils, allowing the chemical structure of essential oils to help us better understand their effects.
MODULE 5
When designing formulas, professional aromatherapists have a mental database of options, allowing them to immediately respond to a client's needs. If a particular essential oil is unavailable, they can instantly think of alternatives; when faced with inflammation, they can quickly identify which essential oils can effectively relieve it. This requires flexible thinking and professional judgment, essential skills for aromatherapists.
MODULE 6
A complete physiology course consists of 10 physiological units. Aromatherapy is a treatment method, and a thorough understanding of physiological structure is an integral part of aromatherapy.
MODULE 7
Many people who learn about essential oils consider themselves doctors, applying the same formula to everyone. Prescribing oils without understanding the client's condition is risky! For example, depression and autonomic nervous system dysfunction may seem similar, but without in-depth pathological and professional knowledge, it's easy to use the wrong essential oils and misdiagnose the symptoms. Professional aromatherapists must continuously improve in this area.
MODULE 8
In North America, essential oils are prohibited from being taken internally, and oral administration is not the optimal method. Like medicines, essential oils have their own "medicinal effects" and the most suitable "mode of delivery." To learn the pharmacology of essential oils, it is also necessary to understand some of the principles of Western medicine in order to compare and deepen one's understanding. You will find that aromatherapy is actually a very professional field and worth studying carefully.
MODULE 9
In recent years, there has been an increasing number of courses exploring the nervous system. Personality, temperament, and psychosomatic disorders do not represent a person; sometimes they are simply imbalances in neurotransmitters, the brain, or the digestive system. Aromatherapy is no longer merely a concept of "energy," but is understood and applied in conjunction with scientific knowledge. This course will provide you with many new insights.
MODULE 10
Essential oils are alive; they do have activity and power. In the past, many mystical practices were incorporated into aromatherapy, which made them unconvincing because they lacked a scientific foundation. If you have a scientific foundation when you study them, you will find that these are just tools or aids in your work. Therefore, we should study energy from a scientific perspective.
MODULE 11
Understand the regulations for the use of essential oils in different countries to ensure your own safety; when blending compound essential oils for customers, include the content of the instructions and design the pricing.
The latter part of the course helps students clarify their direction, whether they want to develop a career in aromatherapy or become an educator, guiding them to define their goals and find a clear path.
MODULE 12
Trainees practice case studies and test what they have learned, cultivating clinical thinking and professional practical skills.
